Morgan Park Academy students performed their annual charity dance show, Dance for Life, on March 1-2, 2019, raising nearly $3,000 to support dance professionals facing critical health issues. Chicago Dancers United, which launched Dance for Life in 1991, is an organization that supports organizations and dance professionals facing critical health issues. As a catalyst for a unified artistic community in Chicago, Dance for Life uses dance to support a stronger and healthier community focused on health and well-being. Giving Back on Fall Service Day

Morgan Park Academy’s longstanding commitment to service was on full display during our all-school Service Day for the fall semester, involving students and teachers from Pre-K to 12th grade. Upper School Students in grades 9-12 left campus to volunteer with our longtime friends in Calumet Public School District 132. We celebrated the parents, alumni parents, alumni, and friends who contribute their time and talents to the Morgan Park Academy community, including the fifth annual Thomas Malcolm Volunteer Award winners, at our annual volunteer appreciation dinner May 4, 2018. Launched in 2014, the Malcolm Award is named for retired Middle School science teacher Tom Malcolm, who modeled the ideals of community service and volunteerism for our school community for four decades. Student Dance Show Raises Thousands for Charity

Dozens of Morgan Park Academy students came together under the direction of senior Nate Nicholes and freshman Rachel Sheppard for our annual Dance for Life benefit show on March 2-3. The event raised more than $2,000 for Dance for Life, a charitable organization whose mission is to raise awareness and funds for HIV/AIDS care, education, and prevention, as well as other life-threatening diseases, while promoting the art of dance in Chicago. MPA students organize, coordinate, choreograph, promote, and produce their own show to support the organization. This is the 16th year of the student-run dance show.
