Congratulations to our State Scholars from the Class of 2021, Andrew, Emmett, and Hunter! The three MPA seniors have been recognized for outstanding academic achievement by the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, which honors Illinois high school seniors each year based on exemplary ACT or SAT scores and/or class rank at the end of the junior year. MPA has had 68 State Scholars in the past decade. Note: Students whose primary residence is outside Illinois (e.g., Indiana residents and international students) are not eligible.

They went out in style at Commencement on June 12, with an inspiring commencement address from Gregory Coleman '91 and a valedictory address by Emmett Campbell '21, while Kenneth Mortenson '63 accepted our highest alumni award, the Richard L. Duchossois '40 Integrity and Values Alumni Award. Valedictory Address 2021


Equally passionate about academics, athletics, service, and leadership, Emmett Campbell ’21 graduated as a member of the Cum Laude Society and National Honor Society. He also received a pair of annual senior awards, the Dr. Larry Brown Science Award and the Annie E. Heath Senior Mathematics Award. Emmett served on Student Council, captained the Model UN team, and was a key contributor for Service Council and the boys soccer and baseball teams. Morgan Park Academy’s graduating seniors had some very exciting options as they made their college decisions this spring.
