Morgan Park Academy thrives by bringing together a diverse mix of outstanding students from across Chicago. Our scholarship programs help us continue our mission of educating the independent thinkers and global leaders of tomorrow by making a MPA education available to well-rounded students who demonstrate initiative, leadership, determination, and excellence.

Academic Excellence Scholarship

For Students Entering 9th Grade in the 2027-28 School Year

Students must sit for the High School Entrance Exam on November 7, 2026 to be considered for the Academic Excellence Scholarship for the 2027-28 school year.

REGISTER FOR THE EXAM

The top scorers will earn the following awards, renewable for all four years:

2 full scholarships covering 100% of tuition
2 scholarships covering 75% of tuition
2 scholarships covering 50% of tuition

These scholarships recognize academic excellence and are designed to reward the brightest minds in the Class of 2031. Families will be responsible for student fees.

Head of School Scholarship

A Merit-Based Award for Exceptional Students

The Head of School Scholarship recognizes students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement, leadership potential, strength of character, and active participation in their school and community.

Eligibility Requirements:

Students with strong academic potential and a desire to make a positive impact in their community
Demonstrated leadership, integrity, and a commitment to learning

Application Process:

Complete the Morgan Park Academy Admissions Application
Take the High School Entrance Exam
Submit two letters of recommendation

Global Leaders Scholarship

World Ready, Future Focused

At Morgan Park Academy, our students don’t just learn about the world — they experience it. From preschool through senior year, we integrate a global perspective throughout the MPA experience, inspiring students to think beyond borders and engage with the wider world.

Eligibility Requirements:

Must have studied at least one foreign language for a minimum of two years
Must be on track to advance to higher-level classes in their chosen language.
Provide an essay describing your plan for serving as a Global Leader in your future profession. Within the context of your international learning journey, explain how you plan to contribute to your academic field and how your community will benefit from your global perspective.

Alumni Legacy Scholarship

Continuing the MPA Tradition

The Alumni Legacy Scholarship honors and celebrates families who have made Morgan Park Academy part of their story across generations. This scholarship is awarded to students who are the children, grandchildren, or siblings of MPA alumni, encouraging a proud family tradition of excellence and lifelong connection to the Academy.

Eligibility Requirements:

Open to all applicants who are children, grandchildren, or siblings of MPA alumni.
To apply, eligible students must complete the admissions process and indicate their legacy status on the application.

First Responders Scholarship

This renewable scholarship reflects our appreciation for the dedication and sacrifice of first responders who serve our communities.

Eligibility Requirements:

Parent Occupation: One parent must be employed as a firefighter, police officer, nurse, paramedic, or active military member. (Only one parent per family may qualify for the discount.)
Financial Assistance Application: Families must complete the FACTS Financial Assistance application to be eligible.
The qualifying parent must be listed as a signer or co-signer on the student’s enrollment contract.
Available for all grades.

Andy Bitta Scholarship

The Andy Bitta Scholarship is an opportunity for one current Morgan Park Academy eighth-grader entering their freshman year at MPA. The scholarship provides $5,000 annually, renewable each year throughout the student’s MPA Upper School education if eligibility requirements are maintained, for a total of up to $20,000 over four years. Upon the recipient’s graduation, a new student will be selected to receive the scholarship.

Eligibility Requirements:

Currently an eighth-grader at MPA
Current GPA of 3.0
Demonstrate leadership through involvement in school activities and the MPA community
Demonstrate financial need

Outside Organizations

Morgan Park Academy partners with several outside organizations that help Chicagoland students with scholarship and additional support.

Daniel Murphy Scholarship Fund

DMSF is a highly respected program that supports talented Chicago-area students with financial need in accessing college-preparatory high schools — including Morgan Park Academy — through meaningful tuition assistance.

Beyond financial support, Murphy Scholars connect with a comprehensive network of resources designed to help them thrive, including mentorship, academic support, leadership development, personalized college counseling, summer transition programs, and a strong community of peers and alumni.

LINK Unlimited Scholars

LINK’s mission centers on advancing educational equity by supporting students who have been historically underrepresented in higher education. Founded in 1966, they maintain a steadfast commitment to serving Black students and communities most impacted by systemic barriers to opportunity.

Focusing on academic enrichment, college access, leadership development, and career exposure, LINK Scholars receive access to the resources they need to reach their full potential.

HFS Chicago Scholars helps underserved Chicago high school students flourish in and out of the classroom by providing educational enrichment through lifelong mentoring, college readiness and academic excellence programs, as well as providing financial assistance to attend top Chicago-area schools.
