Morgan Park Academy has an opening for a full-time Spanish Teacher to join our World Languages team for the 2019-2020 school year.

Founded in 1873, Morgan Park Academy is a co-educational, college preparatory, independent day school in Chicago dedicated to preparing students to pursue the highest levels of educational excellence with an emphasis on independent thinking and global leadership.

Qualifications will include more than 3 years of classroom teaching experience, willingness to work in a cooperative and collegial manner with faculty, staff, and parents; potential to teach across various grade levels; demonstrated success in working with students across different grade levels; Bachelor’s or advanced degree; engaging, innovative approach to language teaching; mastery of creative and diverse methods of teaching, learning and assessment; experience with developing curriculum; ability to work collaboratively in a school-wide department; willingness to chaperone exchange trips; familiarity with current best practices in middle school and high school second-language education, demonstrated talent to create a positive nurturing environment for students.

Minimum Qualifications and Experience
– Bachelor’s degree in Spanish; Master’s degree in teaching Second Languages preferred
– Fluent in Spanish; either as a native-speaker or through advanced coursework and experience
– Taught upper school students in advanced level AP Spanish courses
– Minimum three years effective classroom teaching experience across multiple grade levels
