Morgan Park Academy seeks an experienced and passionate part time History/Social Studies Teacher with a minimum of three years of secondary school experience, preferably in an independent school community. In addition to teaching, she/he must be able to attend monthly faculty meetings and other meetings called by the Division Principal and Curriculum Leader.
She/he must be able to assume responsibility for the leadership and administration of the classes assigned; facilitate a positive academic and formational experience; create and organize a classroom that facilitates student learning and makes use of effective technology tools; provide for the safety and welfare of all students; and show respect for all individuals and fairness in dealing with students and parents. The candidate should have knowledge of diversity, equality and inclusion issues in the classroom. We expect all candidates to have strong interpersonal skills, excellent communication skills, and an understanding of the development needs of adolescent.
Characteristics and Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college/university. A Master’s Degree in History is preferred. History/Social Studies teaching experience (3-5 years preferred). Excellent written and oral communication skills.
