Trustee
Carlos F. Smith, D.P.M., is the Chief Executive Officer and Medical Director for Smith Centers for Foot and Ankle Care, overseeing three locations in the Chicagoland area.
He is a graduate of Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine and completed his internship and residency from the University of Texas Health Science Center-San Antonio and Harris County Podiatric Surgical Residency in Houston. He is a Fellow of both The American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and The American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine.
Dr. Smith also is a graduate of Monmouth College in Monmouth, Illinois, where he has served on the Board of Trustees since 2001, serving as a member of the Student Affairs Committee and Admissions Committee. He is also on the Executive Council as Treasurer of the Illinois Podiatric Medical Association. He is a past President of the National Podiatric Medical Association and Cook County Podiatric Medical Association.
A member of the MPA Hall of Fame, Dr. Smith rejoined the Board of Trustees in 2026 after previously serving from 2012-2019.
He and his wife, Debra, are residents of Beverly, and had two children attend MPA.
