Morgan Park Academy's math team posted another strong performance in state-level competition, placing 22nd with an armful of individual and team medals in Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) testing this spring. We welcomed Dr. Lauren Green '00 to speak to Upper School students at our celebration of National College Decision Day on May 2, 2022. Green, a former MPA "lifer" from kindergarten through grade 12, specializes in breast cancer surveillance as the Head of Breast Imaging and Chair of the Center for Breast Care at University of Illinois Hospital in Chicago. After graduating from the Academy as a successful musician, athlete, French linguist, and WYSE team competitor, Green earned a psychology degree at Princeton University and a full scholarship to attend the University of Illinois College of Medicine. MPA seniors had some very exciting options as they made their college decisions this spring. The Class of 2022 earned $3.7 million in merit-based scholarship offers and gained admission at top national universities and liberal arts schools including the University of Chicago, Cornell, Emory, Cal Berkeley, Michigan, Howard, NYU, Georgia Tech, Texas, Case Western, and Washington University in St. Louis. In the past decade, MPA students have been accepted by 38 of the nation's top 40 schools.
