Lead. Serve. Stay Connected.
The Morgan Park Academy Alumni Leadership Council brings together passionate alumni who want to stay meaningfully connected to MPA while giving back in impactful ways. Members serve as ambassadors, volunteers, mentors, and philanthropic champions who help advance the mission and future of the Academy.
Whether you’re looking to build leadership skills, expand your network, or make a difference for current students, the Alumni Leadership Council is your way to stay involved and make it count.
Our Mission
The Alumni Leadership Council cultivates lifelong relationships between Morgan Park Academy and its alumni by fostering leadership development, meaningful engagement, service, and a culture of philanthropy.
What We Do
Council members support Morgan Park Academy through five core areas:
Leadership — Grow as leaders while representing MPA in personal and professional networks.
Volunteerism — Support students and school initiatives through mentoring, career development, guest speaking, admissions support, athletics, arts, and event participation.
Philanthropy — Promote a culture of giving through annual giving, special campaigns, and peer-to-peer fundraising.
Engagement — Build community through alumni programs, social events, networking opportunities, and mentorship.
Membership is open to alumni approximately 10-25 years post-graduation (or as defined by the Office of Advancement) until April 30, 2026 for the 2027 fiscal year (July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2027)
Support the next generation of leaders by volunteering with IGNITE — MPA’s dynamic career exploration program for Upper School students and young alumni. IGNITE helps young professionals discover their passions and explore meaningful career paths through real-world connections and mentorship.
If you have 5+ years of professional experience, we invite you to engage in one or both of these rewarding volunteer roles.
Mentor an MPA Student or Young Alum
Make a direct, personal impact by mentoring a student or recent graduate over the course of one academic year. As a mentor, you’ll help shape someone’s future.
What does mentoring involve?
- Commit to at least 1 hour per month to connect with your mentee — virtually or in person
- Offer guidance through goal-setting conversations, shared experiences, and suggested activities
- Share your insights from college, career, and life after MPA
- Attend IGNITE program events, when possible, to help build a strong, supportive community
Host a Career Trek
Career Treks are immersive, one-day experiences that bring groups of 15–25 students and young alumni into leading workplaces for insight and inspiration. These treks help students see what’s possible, up close and in real time.
What does hosting involve?
- Welcome MPA students and young alumni to your workplace
- Organize a day of learning, including office tours, staff conversations, lunch-and-learns, or live work demos
- Collaborate with the MPA Advancement team to plan and execute the visit
Join us in IGNITE and help students and young alumni turn curiosity into confidence.
Complete the application and together, we’ll empower the next generation, one connection at a time.
Museum & Archives
The Academy’s museum and archives are home to thousands of photographs, yearbooks, and irreplaceable artifacts from 1873 to the present. Come take a walk down memory lane!
To schedule a visit, please email alumni@morganparkacademy.org.
