Morgan Park Academy students from kindergarten through third grade took the stage on Jan. 16, 2026 to share heartfelt songs, thoughtful poems, and lessons learned from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s message of peace, courage, community, and standing up for what’s right.

Through their performances, the young students demonstrated a meaningful understanding of Dr. King’s values and the importance of treating others with kindness and respect.

“Their voices reminded us that leadership can begin at any age,” said Kari Misulonas, Morgan Park Academy’s principal for pre-kindergarten through third grade. “Even our youngest students are learning how Dr. King’s legacy continues to shape the world around them.”

The program offered families and faculty an opportunity to reflect on Dr. King’s lasting impact while celebrating the role education plays in helping students understand history, empathy, and civic responsibility.
