Q&A
What’s one challenge you faced at MPA, and how did it shape who you are today?
Showing up on time and being prepared. Now I’m known as an executive who is never late, always shows up, and is always prepared and ready to engage.
Who had a positive lasting impact on your journey? What did they do or say that stuck with you?
Lillian Mackal, Martin Wolf, and Warren Jones all pushed us to have respect for our instructors, fellow students, and school while always being available to assist in tasks outside of class.
Looking back, what are you most grateful for about your MPA experience?
Sports, being on stage, developing the talents I had.
How did your time at MPA prepare you for college, your career, or other life goals?
Never miss a class. Show up. Ask questions.
What values or life lessons did you take with you from MPA that still guide you today?
Be honest, don’t over-promise, don’t be rude, and be a good friend to classmates no matter who they are or where they come from.
If you could share one piece of advice with current students, what would it be?
Be open for all discussions, don’t be a know-it-all, look straight at people when speaking, speak loud, and learn how to be trustworthy.
Why is it important to you to stay connected to MPA through the alumni community?
After six years at MPA during key years growing up, staying up with fellow students and some instructors is something I’m very proud of. They are all smart, engaging, opinionated and happy to stay in touch. It’s always been a very special connection for us.
