Congratulations to DeAngelo Fletcher ’20 on graduating as valedictorian of the senior class at Morehouse College!

A psychology major with plans of attending medical school, DeAngelo graduated with a 3.99 GPA while also minoring in both Chinese studies and neuroscience — continuing the academic excellence he displayed at Morgan Park Academy.

According to a Morehouse video profile:

“With a deep passion for medicine and mental health, DeAngelo spent his time at the College invested in research. In addition to being the highest-ranking scholar of Psychology at Morehouse, DeAngelo received numerous awards including the ABRCMS Outstanding Presentation Award, the AUC Psych Research Day Presentation Award, and the Genentech/Roche Outstanding Student Award.

“After graduation, DeAngelo intends to relocate to the West Coast to continue his work in behavior health as a registered behavior technician for children with autism while preparing for the MCAT.”

At Morgan Park Academy, he was the Class of 2020 salutatorian, an Illinois State Scholar and state-qualifying tennis player who graduated as a member of the Cum Laude Society and National Chinese Honor Society while receiving senior awards for English and for Mandarin. He received early-decision acceptance to Morehouse and earned a full, four-year scholarship.

Congratulations, D.J.!
