Each summer, the Middle School experience at Morgan Park Academy includes an optional trip for students to experience our amazing U.S. national parks.
This summer, 18 students who had just finished grades 6-8 joined teachers Sandra Burgess and Emily Fitch on a journey through New Mexico.
The group:
- explored national parks including White Sands and Carlsbad Caverns,
- searched for and identified rock paintings and carvings at Petroglyph National Monument,
- toured museums dedicated to the history of space flight and to arts and culture, and
- sampled the lighter side of the Southwest through a UFO museum in Roswell and a nighttime ghost tour of Albuquerque.
