Morgan Park Academy seniors caught the eye of top colleges and universities at a citywide college admissions forum at Navy Pier, earning early offers of admission as part of the Chicago Scholars program.

Students pre-selected up to 10 schools with whom they would interview at the Oct. 25, 2022 event. They had submitted application materials to these schools by mid-September, allowing admission officers time to review their applications prior to the interviews, which were held in person and virtually.

During the event, 20 MPA seniors engaged in 120 college interviews with admission officers from schools such as Yale University, Columbia University, Vanderbilt University, Northwestern University, University of Chicago, University of Michigan, University of Southern California, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Case Western Reserve University, Washington University in St. Louis, and University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

While several of the colleges and universities have not begun extending admission offers at this point in the annual cycle, MPA seniors did receive admission at the forum from Marquette University, Loyola University Chicago, Illinois Tech, Butler University, Indiana University, University of Minnesota, University of Iowa, Dayton University, American University, University of Tampa, DePauw University, and Dominican University.

Students will hear about merit scholarships and many other admission decisions in the coming days and months.

In the past decade, MPA students have been accepted by 38 of the nation’s top 40 colleges and universities, as ranked by US News & World Report.
