Meet the Class of 2019 — Reese

Reese

Illinois State University

Hometown: Morgan Park

In his own words:

“My favorite memories of MPA are of the basketball team and this year’s Project Week trip to South Korea. Both experiences introduced and solidified friendships that will last me a lifetime.”

From his teachers:

“Reese has the most infectious smile that can brighten up any room. He is consistently the best example of a genuine person; he is selfless and helpful no matter what the day or the situation. He has embraced so many opportunities at MPA, from sports to Business Professionals of America. I have never seen Reese enter the classroom with a bad attitude and I have never heard him say a negative word about anyone or anything. I admire his compassionate nature and look forward to seeing where his future will take him.

“Reese’s character reminds me of a famous Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. quote: ‘The time is always right to do what is right.’ Reese will always do what is right because it is always the right thing to do.”
— Mrs. Drown

From his classmates:

“Reese truly cares about the people around him and spreads happiness even through the tough times. MPA would be a much gloomier place without him.”
— Ireland

“Maurice is one of the only people whom I can truly say I can count on. I am proud to be able to call him by brother. No matter how many times he plays Katy Perry instead of Taylor Swift.”
— Manny

“Reese can be falsely perceived as shy, but is actually outgoing and humble. He is a very loyal friend, making anyone feel included and coming up with a way to bring their spirits up.”
— Ximena

“Reese is honestly one of the most caring and funny people I have met, and it has been so much fun to watch him grow over the years. I will never forget him asking me to buy Student Council valentines for each of his friends and him writing funny notes on each card.”
— Zara
