Ireland

Marquette University

Major: Environmental Science
Hometown: Morgan Park

In her own words:

“I am extremely thankful for the teachers I’ve had at MPA. When a teacher truly cares for their students, it shows, and that’s something that is common here. Because of that, and working at ABC with the heartbreakingly sweet Lower School students, I feel that MPA has welcomed me as family.”

From her teachers:

“It has been my pleasure to have Ireland in class in each of the past two years. She is a remarkable young lady who excels in her endeavors because of her strong work ethic, her willingness to examine different perspectives, and her desire to help others. Ireland served as the senior editor for both the yearbook and the MPA Way newspaper. I could always count on her to meet deadlines and to go above and beyond in her role as senior editor.

“I know Ireland will be a true success in whatever she pursues. She truly reminds me of the quote by Ralph Waldo Emerson: ‘What lies behind us and what lies before us are tiny matters compared to what lies within us.'”
— Dr. Kicmal

From her classmates:

“She always showed a determination and ambition for yearbook and a drive to do more.”
— Bryan

“An awesome person with an amazing spirit.”
— Aiyana
