Morgan Park Academy’s math team began competition season with a bang, bringing home an armful of ribbons and medals home from the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) regional competition at Saint Xavier University on Feb. 23, 2019. Senior Forward Ends Record Career With All-State Honors

A year after her former teammate became the top scorer in MPA girls basketball history, senior forward Amaya McLachlan rewrote the record books again, breaking the season record with 611 points to finish her career second on the program’s all-time scoring list. Boys Basketball Advances to Regional Semifinals

Led by all-conference point guard Eli Moss, the MPA varsity boys basketball team won its playoff opener on Feb. 18, beating Foundations College Prep, 58-35, to advance to the Class 1A regional semifinals against Fenger. Game time for the semifinal is Feb. 19 at 7:00 p.m., again at St. Francis de Sales High School. Go Warriors!

By Tim O’Brien The Beverly Review Racing to a hot start to begin the season, the Morgan Park Academy girls basketball team rode the shoulders of leading scorer Amaya McLachlan. Taking the mantle of the Warriors’ go-to scorer, the senior forward averaged 30-plus points through the first month of the season. As the season progressed, McLachlan continued her tear with her teammates finding a comfort zone and bigger roles offensively and defensively. Mandarin Language Program Continues to Grow

This school year, we expanded Morgan Park Academy’s World Languages offerings to include Mandarin as a full-year program beginning at the Middle School level. Students and parents now have the opportunity choose Mandarin as a full-time language of study in Middle School and continue to study the language in Upper School. It’s a chance for students to learn one of the most spoken languages in the world. I love that Mandarin is now a part of the full-year offerings.
