Home from college for winter break, Morgan Park Academy young alumni visited campus Jan. 8 to talk with Upper School students about what to expect and how to succeed in college, from admissions and academics to dorm life and living away from home.

Thanks to Zachary Bertucci ’15, Adam Cvik ’15, Banu Gulecyuz ’17, Berat Gulecyuz ’17, Daniel Jesuthasan ’17, Vincent Oganwu ’17, and Nina Rathi ’15 for joining us.

Representing Butler University, Claremont McKenna College, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Loyola University Chicago, and University of Wisconsin-Madison, the alumni gave current students a firsthand perspective on the ways the Academy prepared them for college success, noting in particular the impact of MPA’s small class sizes and diverse community. No matter the size of their college or university, they said, they had a level of academic preparation and comfort working with peers and professors that many of their new classmates were still developing.

Students, faculty, and staff were excited to hear of the alumni’s success in academic majors such as bioengineering, finance and marketing, digital media production, neuroscience and psychology, pre-med biology, and business and real estate.
