Walter Snodell ’62 delivered the commencement address at Morgan Park Academy’s 145th graduation exercises on June 9, 2018.
“It was an honor to have Mr. Snodell address the Class of 2018 and the MPA community,” Head of School Mercedes Z. Sheppard said. “As a leader since his days at the Academy, he sets a tremendous example for our graduates and his experiences and insights truly inspired everyone. I greatly enjoyed welcoming him back to campus.”
After earning a B.A. from Wabash College, an MBA from DePaul University, and a CPA license working for several years in accounting and corporate financial planning, Snodell purchased Peerless Industries in the late 1980s, transforming the company into one of the premier suppliers for the digital signage industry.
Since stepping away from day-to-day management of Peerless in 2000, he has split his time between Chicago and Big Timber, Montana, where his family owns and operates a beef cattle ranch.
Snodell also serves as a trustee on the boards of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and Wabash College.
