Chaltrese Bazile P’24
Kind and soft spoken, Shelly is always there to help. She always knows what to do and has been a steady presence at countless Parents Association events. From chairing Pi Day to serving at Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day, Shelly rarely misses an event. She also has been a driving force behind the success of the Parents Association’s fall fundraiser. If you don’t know Shelly, you can always find her at the Annual Fund Gala on the dance floor, smiling and dancing all night long. She has a big smile and an even bigger heart.

Dunni Cosey Gay P’26
Dunni has been another steady presence for the Parents Association over the years. We can all remember her at Homecoming selling tickets and preparing food. Her commitment is second to none. One of Dunni’s first volunteer experiences was a big one, the book fair. She stepped in with a short amount of time and she pulled it off with flying colors. She most recently resurrected the Mother-Son Semi-Formal and made it a tremendous success. She has also been a host parent for many of our international students while taking care of her own two children. Dunni also is a go-to person for admissions events, helping tour new families and share her MPA experience. She is among the first to help new families navigate the Academy and she does all of this with a smile.

Joe Ziemba
The son of beloved Morgan Park Military Academy coach Joseph S. Ziemba, Joe has been a dedicated volunteer for our archives staff for the past two years. His history of Academy football, “Cadets, Cannons and Legends,” will be published soon, featuring stories from more than 30 MPMA cadets. Joe also took the lead in researching the story about the 125th anniversary of the first high school basketball game, which was played by MPA. He went as far as contacting the Basketball Hall of Fame to verify his findings. We are grateful for his amazing contributions to our archives and count ourselves fortunate to have such an extraordinary writer, researcher, and volunteer.
