Brent McKnight wasn’t sure what was in store for him after he transferred to Morgan Park Academy (MPA) for his junior and senior seasons.

He wanted to make the most of the experience after spending his first two seasons at Bishop Noll Institute in Indiana, and he did.

Although McKnight’s impressive two-year run with the Warriors ended as MPA lost 69-60 to No. 2-seed Fenger on Feb. 23 in the Class 1A St. Francis de Sales regional championship, he was still upbeat.

“I had great teammates. It was a great year,” McKnight said. “I couldn’t have prayed for a better year with the team. I’m happy with how far we’ve come and what we’ve done as a team.”

In the season-ending loss, McKnight, the Independent School League Player of the Year, went off for 23 points and 21 rebounds. He also surpassed 1,000 career points at MPA after a bucket in the paint in the fourth quarter.
