On February 25th, Upper School students competed in the Illinois Council of Teachers of Mathematics (ICTM) regional championshipat Chicago State University. The purposes of ICTM are to encourage an active interest in all areas of mathematics and mathematics education, as well as to enhance the teaching and learning of mathematics and the role of mathematics in other disciplines.

Individual Results:
Geometry: 1st place, Bryan C.
 
Algebra 2: 1st place (and second best individual scorer overall), Tony T.; 2nd place, William Z.; 3rd place, Murphy C.
 
Pre-calculus: 1st place tie, Grace L. & Katarina S.
 
Team Results:
Algebra 2: 1st place (Lisa C., Murphy C., Tony T., Will W., & William Z.)
 
Pre-calculus: 1st place (Akin C., Diego G., Grace L., Katarina S., & Adam W.)
 
Calculator Team: 1st place (Bryan C., Will W., Adam W., & William Z.)  
 
Junior & Senior 2 Person Team: 2nd place (Lisa C. & Leo L.)  
 
The three best individual scorers in each section got a medallion. In addition, MPA got a plaque and six ribbons for Algebra 2 and Pre-calculus, and a plaque and five ribbons for the Calculator team.
