Upper School students attended a lecture Wednesday by Dr. Mateo Farzaneh, a professor of Islamic World and Middle Eastern History at Northeastern Illinois University, learning about the development and rise of the extremist group known as the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria (ISIS) and its role in the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.

This was Dr. Farzaneh’s third talk at Morgan Park Academy; he previously visited campus for Upper School lectures on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the Syrian civil war.
