Upper School students in Mr. Novack’s American Government class closed the semester by building and running political campaigns in a presidential and vice-presidential election.

They started by crafting individual political platforms based on their own solutions to seven important issues facing the United States today (taxes, healthcare, the economy, individual rights, education, national defense, the environment) and one additional topic of their own choosing (e.g., immigration, terrorism, the minimum wage).

Students then teamed up with partners to hammer out a compromise platform for a two-person presidential ticket, created campaign ads, and gave stump speeches outlining their platforms for America.
