A Fundraiser for Relief Efforts in Haiti

The island nation of Haiti is bruised, broken and bloody today as the people struggle to dig out from under the rubble. The screams and cries are growing faint as rescue teams race against the clock to find survivors beneath the concrete slabs. As desperate as we are to race to our Haitian brothers' and sisters' sides to help them find their loved ones, we cannot.

Instead we can raise money for supplies and awareness as Haiti will be dealing with this for quite the foreseeable future. Let's get together in fellowship and fraternity, and see what sort of resources we can pool together.

We're having a happy hour in the billiards room at Southport Lanes on Thursday Jan. 21 from 6-9. For 30 dollars, there will be an open bar of beer, wine, select liquors and appetizers as well as open gaming of billiards. We'll also have a small silent auction and raffle. Proceeds will be going directly to the relief efforts of the Red Cross in Haiti. We'll also have the awesome photog Sadie Walker of www.sadiewalker.com on hand to document our evening.

If you cannot make the event but feel compelled to donate to the relief efforts in Haiti, we would ask that you go to the American Red Cross website (http://www.redcross.org).
