MPA offers a Winter Camp over the holiday break for children in Preschool through Grade 8. Campers will have a variety of activities both indoors and out that will create an exciting day.

Camp is open weekdays from Dec. 19 to Jan. 3 — except for Christmas Eve Day, Christmas Day, and New Year's Day.

Camp Schedule

8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
Dec. 19-20, 23, 26-27, 30-31; and Jan. 2-3

Early drop-off and after-care programs are available for parents who would like the convenience of extended care. Be sure to register early so we can plan the best possible classes for a fun and engaging Winter Camp. Please visit the website frequently for information and updates of new activities.

Campers are welcome to sign up for the all nine days, select just a few days or simply just drop in for a few hours. We will move about the campus offering activities in the Theater, Gym, Art classroom, and Gallery. If you wish to drop in for specific activities see schedule below.

Activities include: open gym, art, movies in the theater, recess, and good old fashioned games.

Please send snow pants, hats, and gloves for outside winter fun! We'll build snow forts, snowmen, and igloos. Sledding will be a daily recess activity.

Bag lunches need to be brought daily, along with any necessary utensils.

Pre-K and Kindergarten will meet in the Early Learning Center. They will spend the majority of the day enjoying both structured and unstructured age-appropriate play and learning. Campers must be 3 years old and independent in the washroom. A full set of emergency clothes including underwear, socks, pants, and a shirt should be included. Snow pants, hats and gloves are needed for fun outside, activities.

Drop-Off and Attendance: Campers are to be dropped off at the Gallery in the Arts Center for attendance and will meet with their group counselor. The group will move from class to class as a group led by a counselor.

Gym: Campers will enjoy playful activities daily in the gym including warm-up, exercises, moving to music, yoga, relay races, and a cool down.

Art Class: Art classes will meet in the Arts Center. Campers will explore different artists and their styles. They will then use those inspirations to create their own versions and interpretations of art pieces.

Ice Skating: All campers are encouraged to bring their ice skates from home and enjoy open skating on the Academy's skating rink (37 by 88 feet) located by the Field House. Please dress for cold weather.

Games: Before there was DSI and PSP, there were board games! Using your memory, strategic know-how, and plain old-fashioned luck, you'll enjoy challenging other campers to board-game fun with games like checkers, chess, Mancala, Clue, Rumicube, etc.

Recess: Unstructured outside play, weather permitting.
