Financial Assistance

Choosing an independent school requires a significant personal and financial commitment. Financial assistance is available to assist with tuition. The Financial Assistance Committee is responsible for allocating these funds. Awards are for partial tuition for students who are or will be enrolled for the full academic year. Awards are not automatically renewed. Each year the Committee requires parents to submit a new FACTS Application in order to be considered for assistance for the following academic year. The award is recalculated each year according to the most recent financial data. Financial assistance is awarded based on demonstrated financial need.

The goal of financial assistance is to recruit and retain students whose abilities, talents, and potential meet the demands of the Academy's rigorous academic program, and whose families are committed to this mission; and to recruit and retain a diverse student body in order to provide a better educational experience for all students. To this end, the following apply:

  • A child must be accepted to the school to qualify for financial assistance.
  • Financial assistance is awarded on a first-come, first-served basis. We encourage all current parents to apply early.
  • All applicants must apply for financial assistance each year. Financial assistance is not automatically renewed.
  • All financial assistance applicants must adhere to the financial assistance calendar.
  • All financial assistance decisions are made by the Financial Assistance Committee.
  • The Financial Assistance Committee will review requests as circumstances change.

Morgan Park Academy uses FACTS Financial Assistance system to assist in collecting relevant financial aid information. To be considered for a financial assistance award, families must furnish detailed financial information by filling out the FACTS Application for Financial Assistance completely. This will require submission of a copy of last year's IRS Form 1040 and W-2 forms for the last two years. The Academy reserves the right to modify the financial aid grant if information submitted on the Financial Assistance Application is significantly different from that on the IRS Form 1040. All families' financial information is kept strictly confidential.

Merit-Based Financial Assistance

Merit-based financial assistance aims to make the Academy experience attainable for students of exceptional talent and potential who may have thought the Academy was financially out of reach.

Merit-based financial assistance will be granted to exceptional students who excel on their entrance exam. Students in grades 1 through 12 will be offered merit-based financial assistance when they receive an offer of admission. Merit-based financial assistance is based on the entrance exam score, applications for admission and merit-based financial assistance along with consideration for their endeavors.

Merit-based financial assistance can be awarded in addition to our current need-based financial assistance program.

In order to qualify for merit-based financial assistance, students must complete the merit-based financial assistance application, the FACTS application and schedule for testing. New students must also complete the admissions application.

Please note that you will not need to re-apply for the merit award for the balance of your child’s current school division; however you will need to fill out the financial aid form each year to maintain the award. You can expect the same award amount to persist for each year of the current school division. Merit-based financial assistance awards must be kept completely confidential.
